Hepworth & Hall Opticians, established in 1966, is an independent group of four practices based in Wigan, Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Although independently owned Atherton and Pemberton properties are registered as Kodak Vision Centres specialising in Kodak varifocals & thin lenses

Our practices are conveniently situated in Wigan, at Pemberton, Newtown, and Mesnes Road, Swinley and also at Atherton.

We take pride in providing a professional friendly eyecare service for all the family in modern well equipped practices.

Our Optometrists participate in continuing optical education courses to ensure that they keep up to date with developments in all aspects of eyecare. Our patients welfare is of paramount importance at all times.

The supply and fitting of contact lenses is undertaken by our Optometrists, all of whom have a particular interest in this area of eyecare.

For housebound patients, we can also provide a domiciliary service within our area.

Our Optometrists are backed up by a team of well trained supporting staff, headed by a qualified dispensing optician.

We arrange regular training programs for all our receptionists and dispensing assistants and give every encouragement to them to improve their level of knowledge and expertise.

The former Hepworth & Hall practises at Standish, Coppull and Eccleston are now operated by Suzanne Dennis optometrists ltd.

Mr Brian Gleave BSc FBCO - Graduated University of Aston in Birmingham in 1976 and joined Hepworth and Hall in 1978. A College Foundation Fellow. He was Hepworth and Hall's only ophthalmic optician in the days when we had only three practices. Although he is now mainly at the Mesnes Road and Atherton practices, he sometimes tests throughout the group. Outside work he is married with two adult children and his interests include local junior cricket and Atherton & Tyldesley Round Table. With his wife Janet he took over ownership of Hepworth & Hall in 2005.
Mr Chris Jones BSc(Hons) FBDO MCOptom - Qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 1987. Returned to Bradford University as a mature student to read Optometry. Qualified and registered in 1994. He joined Hepworth and Hall in 1994. He has a particular interest in toric contact lenses and dispensing spectacles with the best cosmetic results.
Miss Jenna Richardson FBDO - Joined Hepworth & Hall as a receptionist in 1998 and qualified as a dispensing optician in 2004. She is especially interested in the many advances in lens design and to provide everybody with cosmetically pleasing and comfortable spectacles.
David Gleave - is training to be a qualified dispensing optician working in practice and studying in Bradford. Outside of work he enjoys playing cricket.
